President’s Blog – 2021
Happy New Year Buderim United families, and welcome to another year of Churches soccer. Hopefully 2021 will be a great year for Buderim United. We are still operating under a COVID safe plan similar to last year, but we are all hoping to have a far more normal season of soccer for everyone.
We have exciting news too, with the official opening of Field Four, a brand new multi-use oval next to our main field. Field Four will be able to be used for soccer on match days, and also for training on busy afternoons. The new facility cost the government $2.8 million and includes 100+ new parking spaces, landscaping and a brilliant spectator hill which is perfect for viewing games on our main field.
If you don’t already know, online registration is already open, at ‘registrations.SCCSA.org.au/buderim’, and we encourage all players to ‘pay on-line’ if possible to save our committee extra work in chasing up payments.
We have a new look committee in place for 2021. Get ready for our 2021 Come and Try Day on 6th February, Player Orientation Meet on 20th February, and our Whole of Club Day on 27th February, before the SCCSA season officially starts on 5th of March. We have also upgraded our BUFC website. If you have any photos you’d like published, please email admin@buderimunitedfc.com.
A reminder, that due to our compulsory COVID safe plan, any families and other spectators attending the fields during training, games or events MUST sign in using the QR code displayed at the Clubhouse (registered players attending training matches, or events don’t need to). Other COVID rules are regular hand washing, social distancing, and during soccer activities avoiding unnecessary physical contact including handshakes and high-fives. If spectators are unable to social distance then face masks must be worn.
If everyone attending soccer plays their part and adheres to COVID rules, our children can have a wonderful season playing the ‘World Game’.
So make sure you get your children registered soon to secure their spot in a BUFC team and we’ll see you at the Fishermans Road fields real soon.
Go Buderim !
Regards
Ross Gordon
